Vi Giam (sing for and sing miles Nghe Tinh) is a special cultural product in Nghe Tinh province,

honored by UNESCO as “I ta ble C lt al e ta e” of ma t However, there is a fact that Vi

Giam has fallen into oblivion and been at risk of being lost in modern cultural life. By analyzing the

basic characteristics of Vi Giam, this article proposes solutions for conservation and development of Vi

Giam based on the principle of harmonious co-ordination between conservation and development,

tradition and modernity, the nation and humanity.
